Anarchotyranie

Under anarchy, crime is permitted and criminals are not apprehended or punished. Under tyranny, innocent citizens are punished. Most societies in the past have succumbed to either one or the other, but never as far as I know to both at once.

In the United States today, lawmakers worry far more about drivers who don’t wear seat belts, run red lights or play their stereos too loud than they do about the thousands of rapists, thieves, and killers who prowl about as free as wolves in the woods.

What we have in this country today, then, is both anarchy (the failure of the state to enforce the laws) and, at the same time, tyranny—the enforcement of laws by the state for oppressive purposes; the criminalization of the law-abiding and innocent through exorbitant taxation, bureaucratic regulation, the invasion of privacy, and the engineering of social institutions, such as the family and local schools; the imposition of thought control through “sensitivity training” and multiculturalist curricula, “hate crime” laws, gun-control laws that punish or disarm otherwise law-abiding citizens but have no impact on violent criminals who get guns illegally, and a vast labyrinth of other measures. In a word, anarcho-tyranny.

Anarcho-tyranny, of course, is not confined to the United States. In Western Europe, by some estimates, there are some 800 people now imprisoned for what can only be called “thought crimes”—for violations of the laws of various countries against racial “defamation” (usually, using racial or ethnic epithets and slurs), denying the holocaust, complaining about immigration, talking about racial differences, and even criticizing non-Western religions. Last December, British police arrested two leaders of the anti-immigration British National Party—Nick Griffin and the BNP’s founder, John Tyndall—because hidden cameras (not for speeders or for collecting revenue but for spying) had recorded them saying unkind things about Islam. Mr. Griffin reportedly called it “a wicked religion.”

You spend tons of money on prisons and have a militarized police force, yet they seem unable to stop muggings and murder.

Blog o úpadku západní civilisace se nedávno zabýval anarchotyranií v justici, kde stát trestá řádné občany, zatímco kriminálníky omlouvá:

Yet the criminal may get away with less punishment from the state because of his race, or religion, or because someone makes an excuse for his behavior.

That mag is perfectly legal in my home state of Florida. If I were to cross into New York bearing it with me, I could be arrested for a felony even if I didn’t know better.
